Intralox, L.L.C., a division of Laitram, L.L.C., and a global provider of conveyance solutions and services, has a position available for a Technical Vendor Specialist.  In this role the qualified individual will be a part of the Strategic Sourcing Development Team to play a hybrid role of manufacturing specialist and relationship manager.  This position is located in the Savage, MD office reporting to the Purchasing Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Researches, identifies, and qualifies potential new suppliers in order to secure more cost-effective sources of products and services.
  • Manages vendor relationships from the start of the contract through the sales process and after.
  • Co-lead new product development amongst internal stakeholders and suppliers
  • Coordinates supplier management tasks inclusive of working with supplies and internal employees.
  • Executes strategic sourcing needs for due diligence, risk assessment and continuing vendor monitoring.
  • Assists Purchasing Manager and coordinate supplier qualification processes.
  • Builds long-term relationships by creating value, opportunities for growth, customer acquisition, and brand-building for multiple vendors
  • Increases vendor participation through deep knowledge of program opportunities.
  • Communicates with vendors to ask any technical questions, and delivering information to the new product development team.
  • Analyzes multiple vendors to decide which to use for a particular product and providing leadership over purchasing agents and buyers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree from an accredited University.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in vendor management
  • Must have a high technical aptitude.
  • Excellent communication skills and have interpersonal skills to effectively maintain vendor relationships.
  • Customer service oriented personality and approach.
  • Strong management and collaboration skills including planning, leadership and team building.
  • Work with personnel at all levels of an organization.
  • Maintain poise and focus under time constraint pressures and the potential of long work hours.
  • Computer proficiency with demonstrated experience in MS Office (Word & PowerPoint)
  • Must be able to travel domestically 40% out of the year.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering
  • Experience in AutoCad and reading blue prints.
