Intralox, L.L.C., a division of Laitram, L.L.C., and a global provider of conveyance solutions and services, has a position available for a Supplier Development Engineer.  In this role the qualified individual will ba part of the Intralox Baltimore Supply Chain Team to play a hybrid role of manufacturing specialist and relationship manager.  This position will be located in the Hanover, MD office reporting to the Supply Chain Manager.

  • Discuss and comprehend technical topics on both electrical and mechanical components with both internal product development teams and external vendors.
  • Thoroughly understands the supplier pool to ensure each work only within their core competencies.  
  • Identifies, researches, and qualifies suppliers to optimize sources of products and services.
  • Manages vendor relationships from the start of the contract through the sales process and after.
  • Co-lead new product development amongst internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Coordinates supplier management tasks inclusive of working with suppliers and internal employees.
  • Executes strategic sourcing needs for due diligence, risk assessment and continuous vendor monitoring.
  • Builds long-term relationships by providing value, opportunities for growth, customer acquisition, and brand-building for multiple vendors.
  • Increases vendor participation through deep knowledge of program opportunities.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in vendor management.
  • Must have a high technical aptitude.
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills to effectively maintain vendor relationships.
  • Strong management and collaboration skills including planning, leadership, and team building.
  • Work with personnel at all levels of an organization.
  • Maintain poise and focus under time constraint pressures and the potential of long work hours.
  • Computer proficiency with demonstrated experience in MS Office (Word & PowerPoint).
  • Must be able to travel domestically 30% of the year.
  • Ability to read and comprehend mechanical and electrical drawing packages.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in Autodesk Software or equivalent
