Intralox, L.L.C., a division of Laitram, L.L.C., and a global provider of conveyance solutions and services, has a position available for a Sourcing Category Manager (SCM). In this role the qualified individual will be a part of the Intralox Baltimore (IBA) Supply Chain Team to play a hybrid role of manufacturing specialist and relationship manager. This position will be located in the Hanover, MD office reporting to the Supply Chain Supervisor – Supplier Management.

The SCM must have familiarity with Industry standards with a variety of the field concepts, best practices, and procedures. Candidates will be expected to use experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, perform a variety of complicated tasks, and have a wide degree of creativity.

Responsibilities

• Discuss and comprehend technical topics on both electrical and mechanical components with both internal product development teams and external vendors.

• Manage vendor relationships from qualification through development and continuous improvement.

• Co-lead new product development amongst internal stakeholders and suppliers.

• Coordinate supplier management tasks inclusive of working with suppliers and internal employees.

• Build long-term relationships by providing value, opportunities for growth, customer acquisition, and brand-building for multiple vendors.

• Increase vendor participation through deep knowledge of program opportunities.

• Plays a critical role in the execution of the Supply Chain department’s 2024 vision specifically as it pertains to Supplier Development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University.

• Must have a high technical aptitude.

• Excellent communication skills and have interpersonal skills to effectively maintain strategic supplier relationships.

• Strong management and collaboration skills including planning, leadership and team building.

• Work with personnel at all levels of an organization.

• Deep understanding of problem-solving techniques.

• Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical technical drawing packages.

• Maintain poise and focus under time constraint pressures and the potential of long work hours.

• Computer proficiency with demonstrated experience in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

• Must be able to travel domestically 40% out of the year.

Desired Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

• Experience in Autodesk Inventor

• Experience using a Product Lifecyle Management (PLM) system

• Experience in fluid power systems

• Experience with electric motor power transmission
