  • Provide leadership and overall management of the shipping team members including coaching, developing, training, evaluations, and providing feedback.
  • Manage customer shipments and assigns shipping duties as required to meet customer commitments.
  • Develop, implement, maintain, and improve effective outbound shipping processes.
  • Promote safety and quality standards within the shipping teams across all facilities.
  • Select carriers for transportation and negotiate rates and contracts with carriers.
  • Review, improve and negotiate carrier contracts.
  • Respond to and resolve complaints and problems.
  • Keep up-to-date on shipping carriers, routes and rates and any changes to them.
  • Manage various projects related to Intralox’s expansion.
  • Ensure team members are trained to create complete and accurate shipping records to support on-time delivery and an excellent customer experience.
  • Create and manage KPIs for the shipping team.
  • Support customer projects by ensuring on-time, error free delivery of our products.
  • Use strong planning and organizational skills to ensure timely completion of all milestones and efforts to ensure on-time delivery to customers.
  • Perform and support root cause analysis on shipping errors and quality concerns.
  • Interface with teams across a variety functions to ensure upstream and downstream deliverables are met.
  • Represent the shipping teams in operational meetings that directly support program and organization shipping goals.
  • Coordinate with engineers, shippers, crate or carton manufacturers, and others for special crating and packing requirements.
  • Support and assist internal teams in resolving shipping-related issues and provide guidance on shipping processes.

Position Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management, Production Management, Supply Chain, or commensurate experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in logistics, transportation, shipping or distribution management including direct management of staff is required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Ability to devise and implement processes.
  • Ability to proactively demonstrate sound judgement and safety management practices.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Positive attitude.  Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to work overtime, flexible schedules, and weekends as required.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift and carry up to 40 pounds.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous experience organizing a warehouse sequencing center.
  • Previous experience with Lean/5S concepts.
  • Previous experience with an ORACLE operating system (SAP).
  • Intralox equipment/product knowledge.
