Senior Mechatronic System Architect
In this role, you will be working in our Equipment Platform's R&D department to enhance our current product line and create our future products.
Key responsibilities:
- Working with the business, to translate market requirements for equipment into design specifications, architecture and design while maintaining an overall alignment with platform design and activities.
- Taking ownership for optimization of equipment performance (technical performance, quality, throughput, cost, …) during the various phases of product development;
- Exploring new opportunities and technologies by developing concept designs, and by evaluating feasibility by model-based engineering.
- Collaborating in a multi-disciplinary team to develop new solutions to extend the roadmap and product portfolio in conveyance systems.
- Development and maintenance of product roadmap solutions.
- Development of (embedded) algorithms for testing, control and/or automation of conveyance equipment.
- Frequent and productive interactions with senior management, customers, and peers, on matters of new equipment development.
Desired qualifications:
- Accredited university degree (MSc or PhD) in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- Minimum 10+ years’ experience in mechatronic system engineering and development is required.
- Expertise in system architecture and systems thinking, ability to develop software and hardware architectures from scratch.
- Application relevant knowledge of commonly used controls engineering concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Knowledge in the field of conveyance solutions is a preference.
- Experience with Advanced Software Development and IT networking
- Experience with Matlab/Simulink for simulation, analysis, system design, algorithm design, automatic code generation
- Experience with automation platforms e.g. from: Allen Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens, Inductive Automation, Beckhoff
- Basic understanding of NFPA 70 (NEC), NFPA 79, and UL508A Standards and regulations

- Ability to translate manufacturer data sheets into practical applications, ensuring accurate and efficient system integration.

- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Ability to build effective relationships with engineering groups, customers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Ability to lead people interdisciplinary at the technical level (systems, electrical, mechanical and software engineering) towards delivering a new module.

- Ability to travel when needed for testing and development.
