Intralox has a position available for a Quality Manager.  This position will be critical to the efficient manufacturing of the equipment ithe Hanover, MD facility.  Primary responsibilities will include growing and building the Quality Department with a focus on a total quality management approach. The team will consist of engineers, inspectors and technicians, identifying the tools needed to plan, execute, and improve quality throughout the product lifecycle. The applicant must have a science background with proven analytic, organizational and communication skills, and must have prior experience as a team leader.

Responsibilities 

  • Work with other Company leaders to define the responsibilities and goals of the QA/QC department. 
  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the QA/QC department. 
  • Grow and build the Quality Department with a focus on a total quality management approach. 
  • Performs management functions of employees such as hiring, terminations, creating indicants, employee reviews and compensation decisions. 
  • Drive continuous improvement by developing, coaching, and maintaining quality standards and processes. 
  • Assess quality performance and develop key performance indicators and reports to drive continuous improvement efforts. 
  • Lead the review and analysis of customer complaint information and guide engineering and manufacturing efforts to effectively contain and implement corrective actions timely.  
  • Encourage an environment of teamwork and convey the concepts of the Laitram Business Philosophy within the department. 
  • Coordinate quality globally to ensure consistent products to our global customer base. 
  • Perform a variety of tasks in support of short- and long-term goals of the engineering and manufacturing operations. 
  • Always prioritize safety. 
  • Perform a variety of tasks in support of short- and long-term goals of the Equipment division. 
Requirements 
  • Degree in a technical or related field. 
  • 5 – 7 years of experience working in a Quality role. 
  • Previous experience with hiring, firing and employee development.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, teamwork, and leadership skills to overcome obstacles. 
  • Desire to lead, mentor and develop others. 
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and under the pressure of deadlines. 
  • Must possess strong attention to detail and project management skills. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Willing to work overtime and on weekends as required. 
  • Functional knowledge of statistics. 
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to travel 20% with potential of occurrence over weekends or holidays.  
  • Possess an ASQ or equivalent certification. 

Desired Qualifications 

  • Experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Experience in an equipment engineer-to-order and assemble-to-order manufacturing environment. 
  • Experience implementing SPC and/or six-sigma concepts.
