Quality Engineer

Responsibilities:
• Build product knowledge to develop or improve product specifications, identify potential failure modes, assess root cause, improve product performance, and drive risk management.
• Apply statistical process control (SPC) and other statistical methods of analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes to ensure that customer and internal requirements are met.
• Compile technical data and other key process information to determine product/process specifications and establish baselines.
• Ability to effectively define problems through data analysis, propose workable solutions to minimize defects and waste.
• Ability to define and work on data driven six sigma type projects. Determine statistical process capabilities and implement process control systems designed to improve consistency, product yield, quality, and throughput rates.
• Read engineering drawings, plans, and specifications to understand the requirements of parts/ products and services.
• Perform regular quality assessments on all incoming materials from vendors and outgoing products for shipping.
• Perform regular product evaluations, record inspection results, and recommend improvements to the production process to ensure quality control.
• Measure product dimensions examine functionality and compare the final product to the specifications.
• Exhibit teamwork and self-management
• Support the business needs including potential overtime and flexible schedules.
• Support timely resolution of quality related issues on the SQDC board
• Liaison with Engineering, Supplier Quality, Operations, Production Control, and Supply Chain
• Track non-conforming material to ensure appropriate closure and lead Material Review Board (MRB) efforts.
• Evaluate production problems and verify cross-functional alignment on resolution.
• Manage aspects of internal quality systems related to incoming inspection, calibration, MRB, etc.
Requirements:
• BS Degree in Engineering or equivalent
• At least 1 year of hands-on experience with mechanical systems.
• Proficient in MS Office
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment and under the pressure of deadlines.
• Must possess strong attention to detail and sense of urgency to respond to issues.
• Knowledge of Quality Core Tools (FMEA, PPAP, APQP, MSA, SPC)
• Ability to lift 45 pounds or greater.
• Interpersonal and communication skills
• Daily on-site support in manufacturing facility.
Desired Qualifications:
• BS Degree Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
• A minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a Quality related position in a manufacturing environment
• Experience in an equipment engineer-to-order (custom) manufacturing environment
• Possess an ASQ or equivalent certification
• Experience in a mass production inspection environment.
• Experience implementing SPC and/or six-sigma concepts.
• Knowledge of best practices for the Quality Assurance function in a Manufacturing environment.
• Experience with quality tools such as CMM or other measuring systems.
• Proven track record in problem solving and/or leading Projects
• Experience with Oracle and Smartsheet
• A minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a Quality related position in a manufacturing environment

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Intralox considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training and key skills. The position is eligible for one of the following: commissions, discretionary incentives, or production incentives according to the terms of those plans
Salary Range $62,700 to $156,400.
