Job Description:

  • Build product knowledge to develop or improve product specifications, identify potential failure modes, assess root cause, improve product performance, and drive risk management. Develop and initiate standards and methods for inspection, testing processes, and evaluation.
  • Apply statistical process control (SQC/SPC) and other statistical methods of analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes to ensure that customer and internal requirements are met.
  • Compile technical data and other key process information to determine product/process specifications and establish baselines. 
  • Create standard operating procedures and instructions and train new hires on the quality operations.
  • Devise sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
  • Ability to effectively define problems through data analysis, propose workable solutions to minimize defects and waste.
  • Ability to define and work on data driven Lean six sigma type projects. Determine statistical process capabilities, control plans, GR and R, FMEA and implement process control systems designed to improve consistency, product yield, quality, and throughput rates.
  • Read engineering drawings, plans, and specifications to understand the requirements of parts/ products and services.
  • Perform risk assessment and drive mitigation plans working with cross functional team.
  • Perform regular quality assessments on all incoming materials from vendors, in-process and product audits and non-conformance material disposition in a timely manner and outgoing products for shipping.
  • Perform regular product evaluations, record inspection results, and recommend improvements to the production process to ensure quality.
  • Measure product dimensions examine functionality and compare the final product to the specifications.

  • Work overtime, flexible schedules, and weekends as required


  • BS Degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • A minimum of 5+ years’ experience in a Quality related position in a manufacturing environment
  • At least 1 year of hands on experience with mechanical systems.
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and under the pressure of deadlines.
  • Must possess strong attention to detail and sense of urgency to respond to issues.
  • Knowledge of Quality Core Tools (FMEA, PPAP, APQP, MSA, SQC/SPC)
  • Ability to travel 20%, including on weekends and holidays
  • Ability to lift 45 pounds or greater.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in an equipment engineer-to-order and assemble-to-order manufacturing environment
  • Experience with a QMS/ISO9001
  • Preferred an ASQ or equivalent certification as CQE
  • Experience in a mass production inspection environment.
  • Experience implementing SQC/SPC and/or Lean six-sigma concepts.
  • Knowledge of best practices for the Quality Assurance function in a Manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with quality tools such as CMM or other measuring systems.
