Intralox is looking for a Project Manager to be part of their Production Engineering team.  This team utilizes a variety of skill sets, development methodologies, and functional knowledge to accelerate the efficiency and scale of equipment production. This position is located in the Hanover, MD office. 

In this role, the Project Manager will be responsible for managing the transformation of new products from the design engineering phase to the production manufacturing environment. The Project Manager will actively coordinate all activities associated with bringing engineering ideas and models into the physical world of manufacturing, i. e.,  design of assembly cells, jigs and fixtures, routings, engineering change management, supplier management etc. This work takes place in the office and on the workroom floor, aligning the two environments for optimal production of new products.  The PM will also be responsible for managing ad hoc development projects such as selection of machinery or technologies that will help accelerate build time and quality.

  • Identify opportunity for improvement in warehouse, assembly and engineering functional areas
  • Work as part of an engineering team to define project scope and develop initiatives for internal customers.
  • Execute projects while maintaining project scope, schedule and budget.
  • Actively manage projects by monitoring progress, coordinating cross team activities and proactively identifying and resolving potential resource or process conflicts.
  • Identify project risk and develop plans for risk mitigation.
  • Assess project implications systematically and champion interdepartmental projects.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with various team members including but not limited to Controls Engineers, Programmers, Project Managers, Assembly technicians, IT, and Warehouse personnel
  • Travel required (5%) for equipment installation, start-up or troubleshooting, and various training opportunities


  • BS or BA from a 4 year institution
  • Minimum 2 years project management experience
  • High level of mechanical aptitude and ability to articulate mechanical concepts
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive communication
  • Good questioning skills to understand project needs and requirements
  • Manage multiple projects, task, and resources concurrently
  • Maintain poise and focus under time constraint pressures and adverse conditions
  • Computer systems knowledge/skills·         

Desired Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering
  • PMP or formal Project Management training preferred
  • 2D/3D CAD experience
  • Basic knowledge of conveyors and/or systems
  • Computer systems knowledge/skills such as ERP (e.g. Oracle) and PDM.
  • Base knowledge of conveyor controls a plus (PLC’s, photo eye, encoders, communication network)
