Intralox, L.L.C., the world leader in conveyor equipment solutions utilizing modular plastic conveyor belts, has a position available for a Project Manager based in Europe (south of the Netherlands)

The position is for a Project Manager in the LMH System Solutions Development Team.

The Team specializes in turnkey material handling solutions for the logistic and material handling industry including e-commerce, warehouse, postal and parcel sectors.

The team works closely with customers to determine their needs and then develops turn-key solutions accordingly including implementation support in the field and solution validation for release into the market.

The desired candidate will have good understanding of commonly-used project management practices, and procedures and willingness to perform both ‘office’ and in 'the field' work.

 

This position may requires significant amount of travel (it could be more than 30% for certain period of the year) with some project work taking place on holidays and weekends to meet customer scheduling requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the scope of work and the milestones from preparation through execution on-site and project closure according to contractual agreements and project specifications.
  • Identifies project risks to develop and manage a risk management plan
  • Plan upfront and align with all stakeholders on schedule, deliverables, projects resources, budgets
  • Promptly communicates and reports project status, forecasts, metrics, requirements, and risks;
  • Creates and distribute clear action items and follows up on those with strong sense of ownership.
  • Collaborates with various team members including but not limited to sales, operation, engineers, project managers, assembly technicians, IT, Warehouse personnel, technical writers, installation, commissioning and after sales teams as well as accounting and financial to process invoices and payments.
  • Coordinate and assists in commissioning, troubleshooting training presentations related to Intralox scope of work 
  • Helps qualifying sub-contractors and suppliers when applicable.
  • Contributes with costs and budget estimation to support proposal generations
  • Use approved IT tools to process deliverables and keeps the system always up-to-date.
  • Verify layouts, system configurations, bill of material and calculators issued by engineers
  • Obtain lead-time and costs from production and/or 3rd party involved
  • Ensure the highest safety practices applied at any time with any type of work.
  • Ensure accessibility and efficiency on-site during project executions or survey
  • Positive customer experience during project executions and excellent team-work within colleagues.
  • Resolves problems via a root-cause analysis

 

 

Requirements:

 

  • Understands commonly-used project management practices, and procedures.
  • B.S. or B.A. from an accredited university or equivalent work experience
  • Ideally a Minimum of 3 years of Project Management experience or related technical experience.
  • Capability to work with common IT software as well as with MS Project, MS Office Suite, ERP systems such as Oracle and SAP, AutoCAD, EPDM, Tactom and willing to stay up-to-date on other pertinent software in use for the successful and most productive execution. 
  • Basic or advanced knowledge of Logistic and Material Handling industry and Equipment
  • Effective communication (verbal and written) and relationship skills with engineering groups, customers, suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Good questioning skills to understand project needs and requirements
  • Must be detailed oriented and organized
  • Must be a team player with excellent team-work mindset   
  • Able to travel on project request (it could be around 30%); in specific periods of the year that traveling time may be extended to more than 40% of the time out of home, work weekends, holidays and overtime.  
  • Identify opportunity for improvement and address them constructively and profesionally
  • Ability to work from electrical schematics and mechanical drawings. 
  • understands manufacturer data sheets 
  • Must have ability to lift 25kg and climb ladders if required
  • Familiar with Standards and regulations (i.e. CE) and willing to stay up-to-date on global machine design standards.
  • Able to build a successful relationship with internal teams and externals
  • Must be able to work in a dynamic environment and under the pressure of deadlines.
  • Strong and respectful communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Proficient with English language

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • basic or advanced knowledge of conveyance and sortation systems
  • knowledge of conveyor controls (PLC’s, photo eyes, encoders, communication networks) would be a plus
  • additional European spoken languages would be considered
