Intralox, L.L.C. is hiring a Mechanical Engineer for the Equipment R&D Group in Hanover, MD.  This individual will focus on the development of new conveyance solutions using our Activated Roller Belt (ARB) technology.  Intralox’s ARB technology is revolutionizing the material handling business by providing unique capabilities to effectively handle a wide range of products and industries.  As a Product Development Engineer, you design new Intralox equipment solutions and support the fabrication, assembly, testing, and implementation of the project.  The position will report to the Equipment R&D Engineering Manager and will be located in the new Intralox Hanover, MD facility.  For more information, visit http://www.intralox.com/arb-automation-equipment.aspx

Responsibilities

  • Applies engineering principles and practices in the design, development, analysis and release of new applications and products.
  • Develops products utilizing equipment life cycle concepts such as manufacturability, manufacturing costs, assembly, performance, reliability and service.
  • Build in-depth understanding of Intralox’ Activated Roller Belt Technology.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to fulfill product requirements while meeting schedule and budget goals.
  • Assist in the execution of performance testing.
  • Support the generation of product documentation and equipment manuals.
  • Support equipment installation & start-up and assist with troubleshooting issues, sometimes at the customer site.
  • Provide technical assistance to sales account managers and customers by phone, via written correspondence, webcasts, and meetings at customer facilities.

Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in industrial mechanical design.  Knowledge of the material handling industry is preferred but not required.
  • Proficient at creating detailed parts, weldments, assemblies, and installation drawings.  Inventor 3D preferred, but not required.
  • Proficient with using various measuring instruments, tools, and reading and understanding electrical schematics, P&ID, and mechanical drawings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with commonly used GD&T concepts.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD; programming languages also desired.
  • Travel required (10%) with very little notice to support new product installation and troubleshooting; often taking place on weekends and holidays to meet customer scheduling requirements.
  • A self-managed individual who is a team player.
  • Hands on with a strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be able to meet the functional job requirements of the job including being able to lift 50 pounds and climb ladders
