Intralox is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer for our New Product Development Team to work out of our New Orleans office. This position is involved in the complete new product development process, from problem definition to product release.

Responsibilities
  • Involvement in the complete new product development process from problem definition to product release including:
    • Voice of Customer
    • Definition of Performance Specifications
    • Concept Brainstorms
    • Design Reviews
    • Development of Virtual and Physical Prototypes
    • Prototype Evaluation
    • Test plan development and execution
    • Field Testing and Customer Feedback
    • Design Refinement
    • Manufacturing Integration
  • Communicate and interface with team members, representatives from other departments, and internal customers regarding problem/opportunity definitions, project scope, and project status 
  • Collaborate with in-house patent attorney on filing patents for new concepts including drafting/proofing claims and drawings
  • CAD design
  • Component selection
  • Identify manufacturing vendors and technologies
  • Focus on development of products for the E-commerce/Logistics & Material Handling markets
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering degree
  • 5+ years’ experience in Product Development or related engineering field desired
  • Solid modeling experience in SolidWorks, Pro-E, Inventor, or similar software
  • A self-managed individual who excels in a team environment
  • Strong technical and analytical skills
  • Hands-on approach to problem solving
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
