As a part of the Manufacturing Leadership Team this role will lead the training and development for our manufacturing sites to support and build high performing teams. Focusing on the technical training of frontline team members to build engagement and commitment. Increases organizational performance through diagnoses of performance issues, training gaps and building training plans to close gaps, thus realizing improvements in our operations. Performs the full range of responsibilities for the training function from strategy implementation to course development and reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with leaders to identify and assess training needed to build a manufacturing training strategy in line with our business goals.
  • Review existing training programs; suggest enhancements and modifications to improve engagement, learning, and retention and/or to meet the changing needs of customers, the organization, or the industry.
  • Create curriculum to facilitate training using stage gates for effective learning.
  • Design and deliver training workshops and blended learning tools that enhance the skills and commercial success of our teams.
  • Ensure that training materials and programs are current, accurate, and effective.
  • Maintain knowledge of new methods and techniques for training, and training requirements applicable to the organization and/or industry.
  • Identify problems and opportunities such as operational changes or industry developments that training could improve.
  • Conduct or facilitates required and recommended training sessions.
  • Collaborate with vendors and third-party training providers to develop or facilitate training as needed.
  • Evaluate trainings effectiveness and measures progress of training participants.
  • Support continuous improvement 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Education, HR, OD, Psychology, or similar related discipline. 
  • Ten (10) years of progressive experience as a learning & development practitioner.
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating training by communicating effectively through active listening, direct communication and feedback, and maintaining appropriate balance between providing content and allowing learners to practice.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing training needs, identifying performance gaps and root causes, and recommending solutions to achieve desired performance outcomes.
  • Demonstrated technical competence through training and/or experience to provide perspective about prerequisites and adjacent projects/experiences to enhance the learning objectives.
  • Experience in leading matrix project teams and influencing cross functional teams.
  • Proven project management skills and the ability to facilitate organizing and managing multiple priorities and/or projects.
  • Experience coordinating learning and development activities throughout the organization; perform training administrative tasks in a Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Experience leading learning in a manufacturing environment preferred
