Laitram, L.L.C., is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join the Corporate Facilities Management and Engineering Department at our Harahan campus.  Reporting to the Facility Operations Manager, this position will install, repair, and maintain a variety of critical building systems and equipment, such as HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing assets to support our manufacturing and commercial operations in Harahan, Louisiana.

Responsibilities:

  • Repairs and maintains HVAC, mechanical, electrical, lights, and plumbing equipment.
  • Installs piping, hose, and required supports for various systems (pneumatic, water, etc.).
  • Update work order status in Nuvolo (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses problems on a variety of building fixtures and equipment.
  • Plans, selects, and lays out required materials for service and repair work.
  • Works from drawings, schematics, blueprints, job layouts or verbal instructions and operates a variety of tools and machines incidental to operations.
  • Requisitions new supplies and equipment.
  • Provides direction and training to less experienced maintenance personnel.
  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Five to seven years proven experience maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting HVAC, plumbing, building fixtures, and mechanical equipment.
  • Three or more years’ experience in operations and maintenance in large commercial buildings, manufacturing, hospitals or institutions.
  • Building Automation System experience.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Experience in life safety systems desired
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Must be a team player committed to working in an environment of continuous improvement.
