Intralox, LLC has an opening for a Lean Project Specialist to work in the Continuous Improvement Group. This role will report to Continuous Improvement Manager. The Lean Project Specialist will manage and facilitate Lean Six Sigma projects for Intralox Manufacturing to enhance production efficiency, quality, and safety. The role includes defining project scope, coordinating internal resources and external vendors to develop a solution, and implementation of the solution in production. This is a dynamic role that requires the ability to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously and respond quickly to changes in direction.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Assist with the identification, planning and execution of lean projects and Kaizen Events in Production, Hammond and Campus-Wide.
  • Manages Production’s Remote Storage Warehouse
    • Manages the logistics, inventory and the upkeep on the warehouse.
  • Assist with training Production employees on lean concepts and techniques.
  • Assist with our Safety & Ergonomic Committee
    • Conduct Risk Assessments
    • Train employees in the identification and prevention of manufacturing safety hazards.
    • Conduct Root Cause Analyses on Incidents
  • Assist with waste identification and cost reduction efforts Plant-Wide.
  • Handles the retrieval and order fulfilment of all base components and child parts for our Injection Molding customers.
  • Serves as a Back-up to our Plastics’ Liaison.

Essential qualifications

  • College Degree or 10 years of Manufacturing Experience.
  • 2 years minimal experience demonstrating an ability to identify and solve problems in a manufacturing or similar work environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Lean Certification
  • Must be self-managed and a self-starter.
  • Must be organized
  • Lean Manufacturing experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Most be competent with MS Office Programs.
  • Must be a team player and able to work well with a diverse group of people.

Desirable qualifications

  • Competent with SigmaXL, Minitab, and/or FlexSim
  • Comfortable working nights and weekends as required.
