Intralox, L.L.C., the world leader in conveyor equipment solutions utilizing modular plastic conveyor belts, has a position available for an Installation Team Lead in our Hanover, MD office. 


The position is for an Installation Team Lead on the Integration Team. The Integration Team specializes in turnkey material handling solutions for the postal and parcel handling industry. The team works closely with customers to determine their needs and then design, engineer, manufacture, install, commission, train and support conveyance and sortation solutions for them. The desired candidate will have a strong electrical and mechanical aptitude with a willingness to both supervise and perform ‘hands on’ work.


This position requires a significant amount of travel (50% or more) with some project installation work taking place on holidays and weekends to meet customer scheduling requirements. The candidate should expect to work at least 400 overtime hours throughout the year.

  • Lead, manage and support multiple high-performance installation crews consisting of Intralox and subcontracted site supervisors, mechanical and electrical leads and technicians

  • Promote Safety in the field and on campus - Ensure all safety practices and procedures are understood, adopted and adhered to within their team

  • Understand team members’ and subcontractors’ strengths and assemble high performance installation teams for each project

  • Review mechanical installation packages, project documents, plans and specifications

  • Collaborate with team to develop installation strategies to maximize installation efficiencies

  • Perform on-site inspections, promote best practices, develops standards and processes to ensure high quality, complete installations

  • Communicate closely with and support site supervisors to ensure scheduled completion of projects within established budget, time frame, quality and performance standards

  • Ensure equipment, tools, parts, materials, etc. are scheduled in accordance with the installation strategy to streamline installation

  • Understand a variety of complicated conveyor and associated equipment installation tasks with a thorough understanding of commonly-used installation and supervision concepts, practices, and procedures

  • Works closely with the project managers, mechanical and electrical engineers, and proposal team, along with direct office support personnel and field technicians to complete projects

  • Work with the integration team to develop subcontractor network and increase team capacity

  • Organize training for new team members, subcontractors, and team continuous improvement, ensuring company culture is implemented and adhered to within their team.

  • Assist with system commissioning, troubleshooting of field installations and estimations of installation duration and cost.


  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum 5 years in the field installation supervision of conveyors and sorters or related experience.

  • Must have experience managing mechanical technicians and crews or equivalent work

  • Must have excellent communication skills, be detailed oriented, organized and must have a willingness to learn

  • Proficient with hand tools, powered tools, forklifts, vertical lifts, etc.

  • Proficient at working from electrical schematics and mechanical drawings with ability to fabricate parts as required.

  • A self-managed individual who is a team player with leadership qualities

  • Able to travel extensively (50% or more), work weekends, holidays and overtime when required.

  • Must be able to perform the essential job requirements identified in the job description for this position, including the ability to lift 70 pounds and climb ladders

  • Must be based out of the Hanover/Baltimore office (Maryland)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Possess basic skills Microsoft Project and AutoCAD
