Intralox Manufacturing has a position available for an experienced Laser Operations Technician in its Harahan, LA facility. This individual will be responsible for all aspects of operation and maintenance of a large Trumpf laser cutting and material auto-loading/unloading storage system.  A highly technical mechanically intensive position to operate and maintain a state of art sheet metal processing center.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma. 
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in operation and maintenance of laser cutting systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings.
  • Good organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and appreciation for high precision equipment.
  • Ability to recognize when cutting quality or machine operations are not at optimal conditions and make corrections as needed.
  • Good computer skills and ability to learn equipment specific software.
  • Ability to read and use various measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, and magnifying loupes.
  • Individual must be self-managed and excels working in a team environment.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills regarding laser equipment maintenance.
  • Must be able to perform the essential job duties for this position including the ability to lift and move 50 lbs as required. This position is performed at the facility.
  • Able to operate forklifts and overhead cranes safely and pass associate equipment training classes.
  • Cross Train and assist other departments and work overtime on an as required basis.
  • It is essential that this position be performed at the facility.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Trade School / Technical Degree related to CNC machine operations, sheet metal fabrication, or related field.
  • More than 5 years’ experience in a similar position.
  • Formal training in Trumpf Laser equipment maintenance and/or operations.
  • G, M, or other programming codes familiarity.
