Intralox, L.L.C., a division of Laitram, L.L.C., and a global provider of conveyance solutions and services has an opening for an Inspection Specialist in the plastics manufacturing plant. Inspection Specialists are responsible for troubleshooting complex and/or repetitive issues on state of the art Injection Molding Machines, Custom Automation and support equipment. Other tasks include supporting our in house engineering teams as well as recommending, purchasing and implementing upgrades to production equipment.

  • Set-up, operation, and programming of Zeiss CMM’s utilizing Calypso software.
  • Ensure measurements provided are accurate.
  • Identify discrepancies and document the non-conformances using our current process.
  • Interpret/Understand complex drawings.
  • Communicate with internal and external customers and/or vendors as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of measurement data e.g. wear tracking database, mold inspection data, engineering requests, etc.
  • Coordinate machine calibrations and planned maintenance.
  • Maintain all equipment in the cell.
  • Bench work, including hands on inspection of components.


  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years minimum in a manufacturing environment.
  • Is a self-managed individual able to work well individually or in a team environment.
  • Must have a strong drive to learn and willingness to adapt and apply new technologies as opportunities arise.
  • Blueprint reading skills.
  • Proficient in using measurement tools such as:

    • Height gage
    • Indicators
    • Calipers
    • Micrometers
    • Optical Comparator
  • Consistently and effectively measure parts and ability to learn GD&T.
  • Is flexible and responsive to changing demands.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Possess basic computer skills.

Desired Qualifications

  • 2+ year’s inspection using automated and manual CMM’s or programming automated CMM’s (Zeiss’ Calypso preferred)
  • Experience using CAD/CAM software.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T.
  • Experience programming CNC equipment.
  • Trigonometry and geometry skills
  • Mold/Die or other Fabrication experience
  • Excel Knowledge (above basic)
