Prime Shrimp is a young, rapidly growing division of Laitram that uses innovative technology to produce premium-quality, individually quick-frozen (IQF) shrimp. Our state-of-the-art processing facility is located in the greater New Orleans area. 

Prime Shrimp is looking for high-energy, self-managed, and articulate Sales Associates to accelerate the success of the Commercial Sales organization through market research, qualitative and quantitative analysis, sales outreach and account management. This position presents the opportunity to play an integral role in the nationwide launch of a revolutionary product and service with huge potential across our target markets of chain restaurants, grocery and food service.  Meeting business objectives in our fast-paced, dynamic work environment requires a passion for learning and growth and the ability to switch between collaborative and self-managed situations with ease.


  • Proactively manage and coordinate projects/orders both internally and externally
  • Service customer requests for quotes and orders received through multiple channels of communication on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy
  • Assisting with customer / vendor setup and maintaining
  • Booking freight for order fulfillment
  • Invoice customer orders
  • Assisting Inventory Specialist with transfers, analyzing and optimizing cold storage positions
  • Maintaining pricing lists and communicating pricing changes
  • Work closely with internal teams including commercial, production and inventory management to help solve problems and bring solutions to create a world class customer experience
  • Build and expand customer relationships to ensure replacement and new business
  • Serve as ombudsman regarding resolution of any customer issues or complaints; help facilitate timely resolution
  • Perform other related duties as assigned


  • 1+ years’ experience as a Business Development Representative, Sales or Account Representative position.
  • Ability to apply conceptual thinking
  • Self-managed team player who thrives in a complex, ever-changing environment
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks 
  • Enjoys complexity and has a high attention to detail

Desired Qualifications

  • College degree preferred
  • Solid understanding of and demonstrated skill using Microsoft Suite of business software
  • Familiarity with ERP and CRM program environments a plus
