In this new role you are responsible for designing work cells, tools and processes. With your creativity and drive to improve the operation will run smoother with less waste and improved quality. This position will be based in Shanghai. You are working in an international environment and frequently connect with peers abroad. You will be part of the production team and will report to the Production Manager. 
Responsibilities
  • Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods, fixtures and equipment.
  • Design, build, and implement improvements to production processes.
  • Optimize plant layout, develop continuous flow lines and perform time studies.
  • Work hand in hand with design engineers and manufacturing operations to develop lean processes for materials flow, assembly, testing and shipping of products.
  • Identify cost savings opportunities through production process improvements.
  • Act as designated production engineer on product launch teams.
  • Define, design, and evaluate the ergonomics in people’s work.
  • Work closely with quality teams to develop and implement robust quality control processes to ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop & maintain process documentation for production process procedures, flow chart and work instructions etc.
  • Act as designated liaison to other specified functional groups
  • Be a champion of the growth mindset and continuous improvement mentality.
  • Be a champion of lean practices.
Requirements
  • B.S Engineering. Preferably in Mechanical, Industrial or Business Engineering.
  • Strong mechanical and analytical abilities
  • Lean Green Belt or above
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and 2D drawing.
  • An understanding of manufacturing and fabrication processes
  • Computer proficiency in MS office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A self-managed individual who is a team player
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with inventory management, lean practices, and manufacturing methodologies
  • Experience with Electro-mechanical design
  • Experience with Oracle ERP software, Windchill PLM, Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD and MS Office.
