Intralox's Digital Team has an opening for a Full Stack Software Developer with a focus on the front-end.  As our digital presence continues to grow, internally and with our customers, we are looking to expand our team and grow our technical expertise so we can deliver more value to users, iterate faster on features, level up our development teams, and lay a strong foundation to scale our critical web applications for broad internal integration and customer use.

Responsibilities 
  • Implement new web application features which includes the JavaScript implementation as well as HTML markup and CSS/SCSS styling.   
  • Implement and maintain API endpoints, backend code, and shared support libraries. 
  • Take features from idea to release which includes refining new feature ideas, building and styling components in the application, considering user experience in how you add functionality, testing your work thoroughly, as well as maintaining the security of our systems by following web security best practices. 
  • Support the continuous improvement of our code by integrating and using code quality tools, enhancing code test coverage, refactoring, and maintaining high standards of code quality in your own work. 
  • Follow and improve team standards for development approaches, release processes, tool integrations, and other areas of software development.   
  • Participate in all team Scrum ceremonies, collaborate with other teams within the organization, and share ideas and updates. 
  • Diagnose and fix defects, profile and tune performance issues, and otherwise support ongoing maintenance of the application.   
  • Research emerging technologies and techniques and share lessons learned with the broader Digital group.   
  • Contribute to the growth of all developers on the team by sharing knowledge, asking questions, teaching and being teachable.   
  • Document all work appropriately, update work item tracking software and version control software promptly and meaningfully.  
Technical Skill Requirements 
  • B.S. in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or demonstrated equivalent training 
  • At least 3 years of professional software development experience 
  • Expertise in JavaScript, including ES6, and software development fundamentals 
  • Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and at least one modern JS framework  
  • Proficiency with browser debugging and performance investigation tools 
  • Proficiency with Git 
  • Proficiency in core web technologies including HTTP and REST 
  • Familiarity with the DOM, browser rendering pipeline, client-side storage and service worker Web APIs 
  • Familiarity with JavaScript build and automation tools  
  • Familiarity with backend development using a dynamic language such as Python or Ruby 
  • Familiarity with SQL 
  • Experience working in an Agile work environment 
  • Ability to self-manage, work well with others in a team and remote environment 
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills 
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and ongoing learning
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with latest version of React, including hooks would be nice to have 
  • Experience working on global, internationalized, and localized applications would be nice to have
  • Experience in progressive web apps and installable, offline-capable development would be nice to have
  • Experience in graphical frontend technologies such as SVG, Canvas, WebGL would be nice to have
  • Experience working with D3 would be nice to have
  • Experience with scientific / numerical computing would be nice to have
  • Proficiency in understanding and using cloud computing environments and technologies would be nice to have
  • Experience with Scrum software development methodology would be nice to have
  • Experience working with WebAssembly would be nice to have
