Food Safety Specialist - English & German Speaking
Commercial Food Sanitation, LLC (CFS), an Intralox company, has an opportunity for an individual with experience in Sanitation, Hygienic Design, Food Safety, and Quality. This position is critical as CFS works with global food processors who demand consistency in standards relative to food safety and related prerequisite programs. The successful candidate must be able to communicate with personnel at all levels of responsibility within an organization. He or she will be considered the first line of offense to recommend the best practices and procedures when working with food processors or their suppliers on programs. A high-level of technical ability and training skills is necessary for the candidate to provide material input for customer engagements.

The position can be either home office based in Germany or the Netherlands or based in the Intralox EMEA Headquarters in Hoofdorp.
What will you do?
- Work with customers to implement recommendations of best practices and procedures on programs, cleaning methods, designs, pathogen controls, allergen management, and other food safety challenges
- Trainer in the CFS Institute to support training programs and customized workshops.
- Work with Intralox Sales Managers and industry teams to deepen customer partnerships and value in the hygiene field
- Provide food safety and quality recommendations in the development and improvement of hygienic designs of equipment and facilities to customers
- Travel to customer locations in EMEA +60% of the work week with occasional travel to other regions and countries.
- Be an active member of the food industry community. This will include engagement in Food Industry conferences, tradeshows, improvement efforts and include speaking opportunities.
- B.S., Masters, or PhD in the Food Science/applied food science or related field.
- 5+ years of knowledge and experience in the food industry as a Manager, Supervisor or Subject Matter Expert in a food manufacturing or processing company in a Quality, Food safety, or Food Hygiene role.
- Deep knowledge of cleaning & disinfection in a food manufacturing environment.
- Basic understanding of food microbiology.
- Familiar with Hygienic Design principles and processes from a food manufacturers perspective.
- Knowledge of general food manufacturing, as well as quality systems and programs required to manage quality and food safety.
- Stretches the team to excellence in technology, solutions minded professionalism, and growth mindset.
- Curiosity for new models of growth. Willingness and ability to explore and push new offerings and new technologies.
- Effective written and verbal English and German communication skills with all levels of personnel within a customer’s company and Intralox. Additional language skills would bring an added advantage.
- Excellent communicator and team player capable of simplifying complex scenarios.
- Ability to effectively work in a team; set priorities, utilize and coordinate resources and manage projects with little supervision.
- Desire and ability to travel up to 60% of the time. International travel may be required at times.
- Excellent training and presentation skills.
- Able to work out of the Hoofddorp office or from home.
