Food Safety Specialist - China
Commercial Food Sanitation, LLC (CFS), an Intralox company, has an opportunity for an individual with experience in Sanitation, Food Safety, and Quality. This position is critical as CFS works with global food processors who demand consistency in programs and food safety standards. The successful candidate must be able to communicate with personnel at all levels of responsibility within an organization. He or she will be considered the first line of offense to recommend the best practices and procedures when working with food processors or their suppliers on programs. A high-level of technical ability and learning agility is necessary of the candidate to provide material input for customer engagements.

Responsibility:
Consultation:
- Assess regional and global food processors and provide objective, professional, and prioritized recommendations with a global perspective utilizing the CFS Preventive Plan Continuum.
- Support troubleshooting and mitigation for food safety challenges, as well as coaching the food plants on driving continues improvement. Work alongside food processors to support the implementation of recommendations.
- Effectively communicate with personnel at all levels of responsibility within the customer's organization.
Training:
- Be a trainer in the CFS Institute. Lead presentations and breakouts for a global customer base in CFS on campus training.
- Lead on-site customer workshop and develop customized training materials.
- Support development of future training offerings, including digital, as well as future customer support offerings.
Linkage with Intralox:
- Collaborate with Intralox account teams to support Intralox customers' strategies in the areas of Food Safety, Sanitation, and Hygienic Design.
- Train, and make recommendations to equipment manufacturers on Hygienic Design Principles and strategies.
Others:
- Be an active member of the food industry community. This will include engagement in Food Industry conferences, trade shows, and improvement efforts. This will include speaking opportunities.
- Be a member of CFS global industry team and microbiology team.
Qualifications/Education:
- Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent) in Food Science, Microbiology or related field.
- Experience in the food processing industry with significant experience in plant quality and food safety, production, engineering project, or hygiene and sanitation with a food manufacturing company.
- Solid understanding of Sanitation Concepts and the ability to interact with Microbiologists, Sanitation Managers, Chemicals and Managment.
- Knowledge of cleaning concepts, chemicals and the ability to work with cleaning contractors and cleaning chemical companies.
- Knowledge of process control and general food manufacturing principles.
- Ability and desire to innovate and invent, to create and implement new ideas and processes for sanitation.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP.
- Having learning-agility on multiple knowledge learning by doing, as well as be able to do studies on sanitation, hygienic design and microbiology related professional documents independently.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, in both technical and sales content, with all levels of personnel within a company.
- Excellent training and presentation skills and the ability to explain food safety concepts to those not specialized in the field.
- Ability to set priorities, utilize and coordinate resources, and manage projects from start to finish with little supervision.
- Ability to effectively work on a team, either as a leader or member of the team.
- Desire to travel 50% of the time. This travel will primarily be within China, but other global travel will be required. Travel to the United States will be required periodically.
