Field Service Technician - Australia & New Zealand
Intralox L.L.C., the world leader in conveyor equipment solutions utilizing modular plastic conveyor belts, has a position available for a Field Service Technician to provide conveyor belt splicing support, training, troubleshooting & resolve (warranty) issues in APAC. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, self-managed, flexible, service-oriented and possesses strong integrity and professionalism. Significant travel is required, mainly within Australia & New Zealand.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Site Visits: Travel across Australia to perform planned installations of new belting, health checks, and audits.
- Troubleshooting: Actively participate in troubleshooting calls, supporting the Services team to develop effective action plans to resolve customer issues promptly.
- Training: Conduct onsite and remote maintenance training for customers on Intralox products.
- Reporting: Prepare troubleshooting and visit reports in a timely manner.
- Product Testing: Perform in-house product testing for customers and prepare test reports and videos.
- Maintenance: Keep the test shop, tools, and equipment in optimal working condition and always looking presentable.
- Demonstrations: Prepare demonstration equipment, including setup and dismantling, for tradeshows and in-house displays.
- Safety: Demonstrate and prioritize safety for self and others in all actions and activities. Maintain a general understanding of health and safety legislation.
- Teamwork: Ability to work independently, unsupervised, and as part of a team.
Qualifications:
- Mechanical Trade Qualifications: Minimum of a Certificate IV in Mechanical Engineering, or over 2 years of post-trade experience with demonstrated competency in working with conveyors in an FMCG environment.
- Communication Skills: Strong customer service focus with the ability to build relationships. Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to handle high-pressure situations.
- Computer Literacy: Proficient in MS Office applications. Basic skills in AutoCAD 2D for reading drawings and understanding layouts are advantageous.
- Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license is required for regular travel to interstate customer sites and occasionally to New Zealand. While a forklift and scissor lift license are desirable, they are not essential.
- Enthusiasm and Willingness: Willingness to learn, ability to attend service calls, and availability for ‘on-call’ work as needed. Some weekend work is involved.
