Field Service Engineer - China
Intralox L.L.C., the world leader in conveyor equipment solutions utilizing modular plastic conveyor belts, has a position available for a Field Service Engineer to provide field installation support, training, troubleshooting & resolve (warranty) issues in Asia. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, self-managed, flexible, service-oriented and processes strong integrity and professionalism. Significant travel is required, mainly within China.
This role is based in our Shanghai office, reporting to APAC Equipment Aftersales Manager.
Responsibilities:
Conveyor System Installation and Maintenance
- Perform conveyor belt installations, repairs, and health checks in compliance with Intralox standards, ensuring optimal system performance and extended operational lifespan.
- Prepare, assemble, and disassemble tradeshow and demonstration equipment, including packing and unpacking conveyor systems, ensuring seamless presentations.
- Diagnose issues and conduct on-site repairs or replacements to minimize downtime and restore operational efficiency.
- Provide hands-on training for customers on conveyor system operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting to enhance their ability to manage systems independently.
Reporting and Feedback
- Prepare detailed service reports, including observations and recommendations, to guide customers on maintaining their equipment and inform internal teams for process improvements.
Service Documentation and Coordination
- Utilize CRM tools to manage service coordination, document work performed, and ensure accurate record-keeping for future reference.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical Automation, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field of engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of field service experience, involving conveyors, automation equipment, or related industrial systems.
- Solid understanding of industrial conveyor systems and associated technologies; exposure to conveyor belts is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of PLC programming and ladder logic is an advantage.
- Strong hands-on problem-solving capabilities with the ability to diagnose, repair, and maintain mechanical and electrical systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences, including customers and team members.
- Proven ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team to achieve goals.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently, sometimes on short notice. Flexible to travel in weekends and holidays as needed.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure, including handling irregular working hours when required.
