The Intralox, L.L.C. Savage, MD Test Group is looking for a Manager. The Manager will be mainly responsible for leading a team of engineers and technicians whose focus is process improvement, increasing our production efficiency and reducing our need to test all systems produced at our Savage, MD office. This will require working closely with the order engineering team and the assembly team to investigate possible areas for improvement, and developing and implementing a solution. In addition, some of the responsibilities for this position will include product testing, fabrication and assembly, assisting with equipment issues in the field, assisting on PC (word processing, spreadsheet, CAD) and assisting with miscellaneous projects. This is a production environment where each project has a deadline.

Responsibilities

  • Support, develop and promote modular plastic belt through application specific testing.
  • Create critical success factors that align with overall company priorities for the test group to drive continuous improvement.
  • Achieve client requirements through theory, application, and use of Intralox product line.
  • Generate reports reflecting significant test results and methodology.
  • Prioritizing the group’s work load on a daily basis to achieve production goals
  • Maintenance of database of historical documentation of testing results.
  • Testing and set-up for customer Factory Acceptance Tests
  • Support Account Managers and Application Engineers in the selling and implementation of conveyors

Requirements

  • Experience managing a team of engineers. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Positive, Proactive attitude, with attention to detail. 
  • Proficient with hand tools.
  • Goal oriented team player. 
  • Excellent computer skills with some exposure to 3D CAD (Inventor preferred)
  • Travel may be required up to 10-20% of the time and weekend work when needed

Desired Skills

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts
  • Experience with industrial conveyors
