Equipment Controls Engineer - APAC
Intralox China is looking for a Controls Engineer to join the APAC Controls Engineering Team. In this role you will focus on engineering the controls systems for equipment for customers in a wide array of industries, ranging from logistics and material handling to packaging lines for customer products. Our customers are well known brands, and you will work on interesting and important projects that will have a direct impact global. You will report to the local Engineering Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Design standard conveyor system through parameterized software as required.
- Interpret client specifications and translate them into the design of the control system.
- Configure and maintain PLC software for control systems that include filed devices such as photo eyes, shaft encoders, pneumatics, motors, VFDs, stepper motors, etc.
- Configure and maintain electrical control panel layouts and schematics on project basis.
- Develop electrical documentation packages.
- Commission equipment in the workshop and in the field at customer site if necessary.
- Provide controls support in the pre-sale stage and after sales troubleshooting the controls system.
- Estimate electrical costs and create budgets for customized projects.
- Help with further standardization of electrical hardware solutions.
- Provide input and ideas for product improvement to the Lead Product Engineers.
- Develop and conduct training for other teams.
Profile:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Controls Engineering with 5+ years related experience.
- Native Mandarin and proficiency in English.
- Team player with exceptional communication skills.
- Self-managed with a strong sense of ownership.
- Passionate for the automation and familiar with software like Siemens TIA portal, Allen Bradley studio 5000 and AutoCAD electrical.
- Travel as required for project. Some work occurs on holidays and weekends when required.
- Strong hands-on ability.
- Being familiar with different brands of electrical components such as Schneider Electric, Murr, Turck, Sick, etc. is a plus.
- Conveyor systems experience is a plus.
- 3D modeling experience utilizing Inventor or SolidWorks is a plus.
