As an Equipment Application Engineer, you will be supporting the commercial teams with layout development which includes drawings, creating simulations, calculations, and pricing in the packer to palletizer area of the factory. 

Your mission? Strengthen customer relationships by optimizing conveyor system layouts and processes using Intralox’s cutting-edge equipment and belting solutions. Based in Melbourne supporting ANZ, Japan, and Southeast Asia markets, you’ll have the flexibility of a hybrid in-office schedule and report to the Equipment Application Engineering Manager for the APAC region.
Responsibilities:

1. Technical expert for Intralox Equipment and packer to palletiser system solutions
  • Have an in-depth understanding of Intralox’s technology capabilities and value propositions.
  • Evaluate application feasibility and clarify important specifications. 
  • Develop solution layouts and application recommendations.
2. Collaborate and Qualify:
  • Work closely with commercial teams to qualify opportunities and evaluate the value of Intralox Equipment.
  • Present tailored solutions to customers, showcasing the benefits of our offerings.
3.  Innovate Equipment Layouts:
  • Let your creativity flow! Create innovative equipment layout concepts that optimize efficiency and performance.
  • Define project scope and estimate costs.
4. Customer-Centric Recommendations:
  • Interpret customer specifications and provide recommendations based on value and performance.
  • Balance technical feasibility with customer needs.
5. Assess and mitigate technical risks in projects.
  • Mitigate risks for the customer and Intralox by evaluating and identify potential technical risks in projects.
6. Fuel Intralox’s Innovation Engine:
  • Contribute ideas to enhance Intralox technology and explore new applications.
7. Team Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with customers and commercial teams on projects.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Work together with the global Equipment Application Engineering team to learn and share.

Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronic or Mechanical engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD and other CAD software 
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
    • Exceptional communication and questioning skills to understand customer needs.
    • Analytical problem-solving abilities with a practical, hands-on mindset.
    • Proven track record of completing and documenting projects in an organized manner.
  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Willingness to Travel: Approximately 25% travel required for project discovery, qualification, equipment/solution presentations, occasional troubleshooting, and training.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English. Proficient in Japanese, enabling effective communication with Japanese-speaking stakeholders is beneficial.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Conveyance Know-How: Strong knowledge of conveyance-related systems.
  • Electrical Savvy: Familiarity with electrical control systems.
  • Automation Experience: Previous exposure to automated systems.
