Intralox, L.L.C., the world leader in conveyor equipment solutions utilizing modular plastic conveyor belts, has a position available for an Engineering Documentation Specialist on our Postal and Parcel Team in the Savage, MD office.

 

The Postal and Parcel Team specializes in turnkey material handling solutions for the postal & parcel industry. The team works closely with our customers determining their needs and then designing, engineering, manufacturing, installing, commissioning, training and supporting conveyance and sortation solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Create, update, and maintain documentation as the subject matter expert on document control.
  • Interview and shadow subject matter experts in various groups to capture “tribal knowledge” and generate/update documentation.
  • Maintain a quality management system (QMS); ensuring proper version control, document property assignment, and workflow implementation.
  • Create training material based on instructional documentation and collect feedback on the completeness and clarity of the instructional documentation.
  • Ensure all employees have access to documentation, are informed when documentation is created or updated, and provided direction when trying to find particular information.
  • Analyze existing work instructions, processes, procedures, quality records, and quality policies to identify gaps/outdated information and implement solutions to make documentation more efficient.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or English related field
  • Background in technical writing, editing, and document version control
  • Familiarity with engineering drawings, CAD programs, and engineering process
  • Ability to work well with others and comfortable with asking questions
  • Strong attention to detail, communication, and writing skills
  • Proactive in identifying and communicating issues, and documenting pertinent information
  • Self-directed with strong organizational and problem solving skills
  • Ability to self-teach and seek out other resources to create solutions in undefined areas
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, OneNote, and SharePoint

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Professional Technical Communicator (CPTC)
  • Familiarity with Autodesk Software Suite & EPDM
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards
  • Familiarity with a Quality Management System
  • Experience with SharePoint Online
  • Experience with project/program management
  • Familiarity with engineering standards
