  • Ownership in the new product development process from problem definition through early sales efforts including voice of customer, brainstorming, prototyping, technical analysis, field testing and customer feedback, design for manufacture and commercial promotion
  • Filing patents in collaboration with in-house patent attorneys
  • Technical assistance in support of commercial efforts at product rollout
  • Collaboration with a project manager to develop timeline and budget
  • Development of test plans to validate critical customer requirements
  • Understanding and identification of the economic drivers for a customer’s decision
  • Product performance validation via both internal and field testing
  • Development of product design and support documentation
  • CAD design
  • Component and material evaluation and specification
  • Identification and vetting of manufacturing vendors
  • Integration of product design requirements with production requirements


  • B. S. or M. S. in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering curriculum (i.e. controls or electrical with an interest in mechanical work)
  • Solid Modeling experience in SolidWorks®, Pro-E®, or similar software
  • High level of mechanical aptitude
  • Must be a self-managed, hard-working, self-motivated individual
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills in English
  • Computer proficiency with experience in MS Office Suite
  • Must be able to meet the functional job requirements within industrial environments (such as the ability to climb ladders, etc.)
  • Preference given to candidates with experience in plastic part design, project management or test development
  • 15% travel is required
