Intralox, a division of Laitram LLC, is seeking an Employee Relations Specialist to join its team in our Hanover, MD office. The qualified individual will work closely with other members of the HR team supporting the overall mission and growth of the company. The successful candidate must be a self-starter, have superior organization, interpersonal and communication skills, be self-managed, and act with the highest level of integrity and confidentiality.

·         Engage as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert to coach employees and managers on sensitive work-related issues. 

·         Utilize a strong understanding of company policy, culture and principles to provide recommendations in partnership with Corporate Counsel, HR Business Partners, and Director of Human Resources. 

·         Provide counsel to leaders on disciplinary actions and terminations in partnership with Corporate Counsel and HR Business Partners. 

·         Provide support to the HR and EHS teams related to worker’s compensation claims, disability claims (reasonable accommodation versus undue hardship), wage and hour, and/or unlawful or inappropriate conduct or other legal issues. 

·         Support EHS in accident and injury investigations as needed. This could include drug screenings when appropriate, investigations, interviews and timeline development. 

·         Conduct internal investigations both independently and under the direction of the Corporate Counsel or HR Leaders. 

·         Maintain accurate, timely, and required documentation to ensure quality employee relations records. 

·         Support and coach employees utilizing best in class conflict management practices. 

·         Research ER trends and issues and provide consult to managers to build a correct action and ongoing monitoring plan. 

·         Conduct exit interviews to support HR Business Partners in understanding the reason for loss of talent. 


·         Minimum of 5 years of experience 

·         Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study 


·         Experience conducting workplace investigations 

·         Experience resolving conflict 

·         Experience in documenting progressive discipline  

·         Experience interpreting and applying employment law and regulations
