Intralox, L.L.C., the world leader in conveyor solutions utilizing modular plastic conveyor belts, is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer to join our team.

This role is part of a growing team specializing in turnkey solutions for the Logistics and Material Handling division, with major focus on the warehouse, e-commerce, and postal & parcel industries. The team collaborates closely with customers to assess their needs and delivers end-to-end solutions, including design, engineering, manufacturing, assembly, installation, commissioning, training, and ongoing support for conveyance and sortation systems.

This role is based in The Netherlands (Wehl) and responsibilities may involve working at customer sites or collaborating with teams worldwide.

Travel commitments typically range from 10% to 40% and may occasionally include weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities:
  • Own the electrical and controls portion of Intralox solutions from concept engineering to implementation in the field.
  • Design and develop control systems to enhance conveyor equipment functionality.
  • Write, implement, document, and debug control system software, integrating field devices such as photoeyes, shaft encoders, barcode scanners, solenoids, and scales.
  • Create electrical control panel layouts, schematics, bills of materials
  • Provide accurate estimations for project hours and electrical component costs for budgeting and bidding purposes.
  • Oversee the procurement and integration of electrical and control components.
  • Develop documentation and training materials for engineers, customers, subcontractors.
  • Offer remote and on-site hands-on support on installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting when needed.
  • Ensure projects meet quality standards, safety best practices, deadlines, and budget constrains
  • Collaborate with a global team of professionals, adhering to company standards and providing valuable input.
  • Explore and develop innovative control systems that enhance the functionality and value  Intralox equipment and conveyor belts.
  • Optimize system design, components, and materials to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Requirements:
  • Able to configure PLCs, HMIs, networks, sensors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and other control system components.
  • hands-on experience with electrical components (wiring of electrical field components and/or build electrical cabinets if needed)
  • Good knowledge and some hands-on experience with either Rockwell, Siemens, Beckhoff, or other control platforms, including ladder logic and structured text programming.
  • Familiar with Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell Automation Studio 5000, Beckhoff TwinCAT, Matlab, and Simulink.
  • Understanding of HMI platforms and industrial communication protocols, including Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Profinet, CANOpen, and EtherCAT.
  • Knowledge of VFDs such as Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 525, Siemens G120, and SEW MoviMot or similar standards used in the market
  • Familiar with AutoCAD Electrical for control circuit development.
  • Understanding of industrial control circuit design and advanced electrical & mechanical engineering concepts.
  • Proficient with common Microsoft Office apps
  • Experience with European electrical regulations and willingness to stay updated on global machine design standards.
  • Comfortable using hand tools when needed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; an additional language is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving, questioning, and analytical skills to understand project needs and requirements and to present technical requirements to Customers.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working under tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, following established standards.
  • Willingness and ability to train equipment builders and customers globally.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestic & international for site installations, training, and commissioning
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and overtime when required.
  • Enthusiasm for continuous learning and control/electrical skills growth.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • software programming experience in industrial automation would be considered a plus.
