Intralox, L.L.C., a division of Laitram, L.L.C., and a global provider of conveyance solutions and services has an opening for a Maintenance Engineering Technician on the Equipment Engineering team in the plastics manufacturing plant. Maintenance Engineering Technicians are responsible for troubleshooting complex and/or repetitive issues on state of the art Injection Molding Machines, Custom Automation and support equipment. Other tasks include supporting our in house engineering teams as well as recommending, purchasing and implementing upgrades to production equipment.

  • Associate technical degree, trade school or equivalent education.
  • 5+ years’ experience in the repair of automated machinery or equivalent 4 yr. technical degree
  • Self-managed and motivated individual who can work well within a team environment.
  • Ability to flex work schedule based  on project needs
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals and varying technical ability
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking skill set
  • Ability to read and edit electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics
  • Electrical skills
    • High Voltage 120V to 480V AC
    • Low voltage DC under 24v control systems
    • Ability to demonstrate use of Volt ohm meters in troubleshooting
    • PLC knowledge and use of for troubleshooting
  • Proficient in basic computer programs (E-mail, Microsoft Office, Etc.).
  • Ability to operate machine tools, such as a drill press, bench grinder, band saw
  • Ability to lift and assemble machine components, 50 pound maximum, and stand for extended periods of time

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous plastics manufacturing experience, Injection molding experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree (areas of study: Industrial Technology, Engineering Technology, Electronics)
  • Proportional Hydraulic knowledge
    • Troubleshooting and repair of proportional hydraulic, pumps, controls and valves
    • Hydraulic clamping system
  • Pneumatic controls, cylinders and actuators
    • Diagnosis of controls and system issues
    • Repair and replacement of cylinders and components
  • PLC programming and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with troubleshooting of industrial robots
  • Experience with Data Acquisition Systems
  • Experience with 2D/3D CAD, Solid Works
  • Light welding experience
