We are looking for passionate, innovative team members to help us build our industrial controls hardware capabilities that will support our next generation equipment platform.

Intralox's Controls Engineering Team is pursuing several product engineers who will focus on design, development, and integration of a new industrial control hardware platforms. Our control hardware consists of motor control panels, electrical distribution panels, I/O panels (centralized, distributed, on-board, embedded) and all will be designed to integrate with Programmable Automation Controller (PAC) software and Activated Roller Belt (ARB) equipment technology.  Your role within this team will play a meaningful role in transforming our products to enable next generation control systems such as industry 4.0.

The industrial control hardware engineering supervisor directs and oversees the hardware engineering functional team in developing, releasing, and maintaining hardware solutions according to business and customer needs.  Establishes policies and procedures that produce high-quality and scalable industrial control hardware products and services.  The hardware engineering supervisor oversees the industrial controls hardware team as sub-function within a broader product engineering departmental.   Deep knowledge of the hardware engineering and solid knowledge of the overall organizational structure will be required to provide guidance and seamless integrations within the equipment platform.  This role requires a minimum of 2+ years leadership experience.

Objectives

  • Specify, design, and develop hardware architecture that flexible and robust for various Intralox ARB product platforms/families.
  • Develop a high-performance team in a fast-growing environment, with shared/aligned goals and consistent performance management practices.
  • Encourage an environment of teamwork and convey the concepts of the Laitram Business Philosophy with the department
  • Drive continuous improvement by developing, coaching, and maintaining quality standards and processes.
  • Develop every individual in the team to achieve their full potential. Provide ongoing feedback and coaching
  • Lead strategy of hardware development as part of the overall systems/equipment platform.
  • Coordinate the daily work that’s leading to the release of new hardware products & features, as well as the maintenance required to keep existing products up to date and issue free.
  • Ability to connect with key industry suppliers and support the development of new products.
  • Manage change or feature requests with respect to the overall hardware architecture and implement and validate the change.
  • Develop hardware component and systems specifications for the various elements of material handling systems including functional, performance, safety, and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to evaluate product technical solutions to ensure efficient, safe, and reliable designs.
  • Work cross-functionally to curate efficient technologies/solutions/components for innovative product design.
  • Work cross functionally with product development, delivery, supply chain, sales, and quality to launch prototypes, and commercial products.
  • Collaborate in a team environment and/or take charge of opportunities to develop optimal solutions for customers and development programs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated excellent leadership of technology development & deployment into major projects.
  • Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills required to effectively lead, motivate, and facilitate others in group situations.
  • Demonstrated high level of strategic agility and desire to work in a complex and evolving environment and an innovation mentality.
  • Highly proficient in oral and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or other relevant engineering field required.
  • 8+ years of post-graduation experience in hardware engineering with field / commissioning experience.
  • 2+ years of technical leadership experience.
  • Teammate attitude internally and externally.
  • Additional travel may be required for new products and 1st article deployments
  • This roll will be based out of Baltimore MD.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience with common industrial hardware and hardware engineering tools and techniques.
  • Knowledge and experience with industrial communication networks and cabling.
  • Experience building complex hardware automation systems that have been successfully delivered to customers.
  • Proficient with using AutoCAD electrical or EPLAN
  • Proficient with 3D modeling software such as AutoDesk Inventor, Creo, or Solidworks
  • Deep understanding of International, National, and local Electrical Codes and Regulations including industry norms, such as NEC NFPA 70, NFPA 79, UL, and UL508A
