The Construction Project Manager - Facilities is responsible for organizing and managing activities for Key Strategic Projects, ensuring timely and successful completion. This position will also lead scope development for mid-sized and turnkey projects before turnover to others for execution and punchlist completion. The desired candidate will have formal project management training and commercial construction experience, as well as experience leading projects throughout the construction process.

Principle Duties

  • Manages multiple, concurrent, complex projects that support campus growth and master planning.
  • Creates project plans and prepares documents for project assessment, review and approval.
  • Partners with Laitram’s Divisions to gain an understanding of their operations, using that knowledge in support of project scope development, layout and material flows, and process improvements.
  • Conducts on-site evaluations of project progress to confirm adherence to construction drawings.
  • Creates and maintains project schedules, tracks project progress, monitors deadlines and delivery dates, and manages unexpected changes to project schedules. Seeks timely approval for substantive changes.
  • Leads mid-sized and turnkey projects that require planning and design before turnover to others for execution.
  • Maintains superior communication with Facilities Team to achieve timely and efficient job completion.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Construction, Engineering, Architecture or related field required.
  • 6+ years’ experience in project management in commercial construction.
  • 4+ years’ experience in commercial construction project management specifically coordination of technical trades and conducting on-site meetings with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure constructability and feasibility of each project.
  • Problem solver and critical thinker with a solid understanding of project management concepts.
  • Excellent communication skills including verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Must be a team player committed to working in an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Experience working in a customer service-oriented environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office 365. Intermediate knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with state and parish permitting, architectural design, code requirements, and submittal reviews.
  • Ability to use critical path or pull scheduling.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state and local environmental, safety, and industrial regulations.
  • Experience with a continuous process discipline such as Six Sigma, Lean, etc.
