Intralox, L.L.C., a division of Laitram, L.L.C., and a global provider of conveyance solutions and services, has a position available for a Field Service Technician.  This position requires a strong background in mechanical technologies in order to provide technical service and support to the commercial sales teams for installation of modular plastic belting technology in conveyor applications.  This position reports to the Applications Engineering Supervisor and works in support of our FoodSafe programs. Applicants can be based in the US or in Mexico.

Responsibilities:

  • Support R&D engineers in the development of new solutions and services, manage field testing, and assist in release and Roll-out
  • Share field information/experience to benefit product life or market acceptance 
  • Make appropriate plant visits and leverage the use of customer contacts inside Intralox
  • Conditioning technologies presentations to Technical Contacts at key customer accounts
  • Recommendation of solution and implementation of guidelines per application
  • Manage/engage key Technical Contacts at regional OEM’s regarding all technical matters including training, design, manufacturing, startup and troubleshooting
  • Seek to understand competitive technologies and evaluate needs
  • Support Intralox Account Managers and product specialists in the selling and implementation of Intralox solutions
  • Capable of employing PLC’s, HMI’s, motors, and variable frequency drives which are used in the spiral equipment
  • Assist the implementation team in technical audits and health checks for Optimization Projects, particularly with new technology / complex projects
  • Interface with the implementation team to ensure successful services & installation: reviews/approves drawings when necessary; reviews applications and determines product suitability, promotes the highest quality and workmanship standards; and pro-actively work to establish and maintain global implementation standards, best practices per technology
  • Work with the sales team to support installations, troubleshooting, class issues, as the expert product specialist
  • Work with the Technical Support Group to review and approve incoming inquiries
  • Available after regular business hours to support colleagues and clients with respect to platform matters

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or another engineering/technology discipline from an accredited school
  • A self-managed individual who excels in a global team environment
  • 3 years minimum experience working on industrial applications with manufacturers and end users throughout all aspects of a project.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills with great attention to detail
  • Proven ability to read CAD and Solidwork drawings
  • Computer proficiency in software essential to job performance, including MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, Spanish is a plus
  • Ability to work to deadlines; project management skills are a plus
  • Ability to work with personnel at all levels of an organization 
  • Flexible to travel (often at weekends and holidays)
  • Travel will be required up to 50% of the time and weekend/holiday work when necessary.
