We’re now hiring a Technical Development Lead – China CFS, who will help grow CFS technical capabilities, services, and training programs in China. This role applies food-safety, sanitation, and hygienic-design expertise to support customers, develop local technical talent, deliver practical solutions, and work closely with commercial and global technical teams to expand CFS impact in China.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements
Key Responsibilities:

Technical Service Development
  • Understand customer needs, regulatory changes, industry risks, and new technologies in food safety, sanitation, and hygienic design.
  • Work with the China CFS food safety specialist to adapt global CFS services, tools, and methods for the Chinese market.
  • Develop and improve technical services, including training, plant assessments, sanitation programs, hygienic design reviews, workshops, and consulting.
  • Set clear standards for service quality, technical accuracy, customer value, and project results. 
Commercial and Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Work with Intralox commercial and technical teams to find opportunities where CFS can help customers. Help define project scope, deliverables, resources, timelines, risks, and success measures, and lead related technical work such as test plans, feasibility tests, and validation programs.
  • Share local market insights with global CFS colleagues and bring global best practices to China.
  • Project and Performance Management.
  • Manage technical and customer projects from planning to delivery and follow-up.
  • Track service quality, customer satisfaction, team capability, resource use, and project impact. 
  • Keep project records up to date and share progress, risks, and resource needs with stakeholders.

Training and Capability Building
  • Lead the development, localization, and delivery of CFS technical training in China.
  • Build a clear development and qualification path for China CFS food safety specialists, consultants, and trainers.
  • Coach team members through field observation, feedback, mentoring, and development plans.
  • Create bilingual technical materials, case studies, exercises, tools, and demonstrations for local customer needs.
  • Use participant feedback and business results to improve training programs.
Technical Leadership and Quality Assurance
  • Act as a senior technical resource for complex food safety, sanitation, and hygienic design questions.
  • Review key technical deliverables, recommendations, training materials, and customer reports.
  • Ensure services are delivered professionally and follow CFS standards and relevant Chinese regulations.
  • Stay up to date on compliance, standards, food safety risks, cleaning methods, sanitation validation, equipment design, and food-processing technologies.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree or higher in food science, microbiology, chemical engineering, environmental health, public health, or a related technical field. Knowledge of sanitation chemistry, microbiological sampling, environmental monitoring, validation, and verification are preferred.
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience in technical consulting, food safety/quality, sanitation, hygienic design, food manufacturing/engineering, or a related field. Experience in high-care food-processing environments such as meat, poultry, seafood, dairy, bakery, or ready-to-eat foods is preferred.
  • Able to analyze complex food safety, sanitation, or hygienic-design issues, provide practical recommendations, lead technical projects, and support the development of technical or cross-functional teams.
  • Strong facilitation, training, presentation, consulting, and written communication skills. 
  • Professional proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and English, including the ability to deliver technical presentations and prepare reports in both languages.
  • 30% - 50% of travel a year is required.
