Intralox, L.L.C., a division of Laitram, LLC, the world leader in conveyor equipment solutions utilizing modular plastic conveyor belts, has a position available for a Life Cycle Engineer.

The selected candidate will become part of our Water intake team, focusing on US customers.

The Life Cycle Engineer is a new position where the end goal is to increase customer satisfaction by providing proactive support in the form of calls and visits, offering services and solutions that ensures optimal uptime and lowest cost of ownership of water intake systems.

Being part of a smaller but growing team you will also support installations and commissioning’s of Water intake screens when needed.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical and commercial aptitude, paired with a willingness to execute ‘hands on’ work while serving as the face of Intralox on the customer site(s).

Job Responsibilities and Requirements

Responsibilities:

The on-boarding will expose you to our products and services and give you a good understanding of what is important for our customers.

In your work you will:

  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) with fabricators and oversee mechanical installation activities, providing on‑site technical support as required.
  • Support mechanical and electrical subcontractors during equipment installation and commissioning at customer facilities.
  • Lead training, troubleshooting, and repair/adjustment of mechanical systems and electrical control systems to ensure reliable operation.
  • Collaborate closely with the design engineering team to drive continuous improvement initiatives and support potential system upgrades.
  • Coordinate and align technical approaches and solutions with account team members to support customer opportunities and project execution.
  • Provide remote support for design, assembly, service, and troubleshooting activities as needed.

Requirements:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline).
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in a mechanical, electrical, field service, or commissioning engineering role.

Technical Skills & Knowledge

  • Ability to read, interpret, and work independently from mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics, and manufacturer manuals.
  • Hands‑on experience installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and adjusting mechanical systems and electrical control systems.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with practical knowledge of control panels, field devices, and panel components.
  • Working knowledge of electrical panels, motors, drives, industrial networks, and PLCs.
  • Methodical, structured approach to troubleshooting with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal engineering teams, customers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Customer‑focused mindset with a service‑oriented approach to problem solving and support.

Work Style & Autonomy

  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage service visits or assignments end‑to‑end with minimal supervision.
  • Capable of coordinating resources and activities to ensure efficient and timely execution of work.

Travel & Physical Requirements

  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively (70%+), including weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and climb ladders safely in industrial environments.

Position Preferences:

  • Demonstrated proficiency with PLC software and Rockwell Automation platforms, including Allen‑Bradley PowerFlex drives, RSLogix 5000 / Studio 5000, RSLogix 500, and related Rockwell applications.
  • Previous lead or supervisory experience, either in a technical or project‑based role, is preferred.
  • Prior experience working in an industrial environment, such as a manufacturing facility, system integrator, or equipment OEM.
  • Knowledge of or hands‑on experience with industrial conveyor systems.
