Job Description (General Summary)
Laitram, L.L.C., is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join the Corporate Facilities Department at our Hammond campus. Reporting to the Facility Supervisor, this position will install, repair, and maintain a variety of critical building systems and equipment, such as HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing assets to support our manufacturing and commercial operations in Hammond, Louisiana.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements
Responsibilities:
• Perform skilled maintenance and repairs on HVAC, mechanical, electrical, lighting, and plumbing systems.
• Install piping, hoses, supports, etc., for various systems including pneumatic and water lines.
• Accurately update work order status using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues across a wide range of building fixtures and equipment.
• Plan and procure materials required for service and repair tasks.
• Submit requisitions for new supplies, tools, and equipment as needed.
• Interpret and work from technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, job layouts, and verbal instructions.
• Operate a variety of tools and machinery related to maintenance and repair activities.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support facility operations.
• Respond to emergent issues after normal hours.

Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED.
• 5–7 years of hands-on experience in HVAC, plumbing, mechanical systems, and building maintenance.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in operations and maintenance within large commercial buildings, manufacturing facilities, hospitals, or institutional environments.
• Proficiency with computers and maintenance software systems.
• Strong customer service orientation and effective communication skills.
• Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Must be physically able to perform maintenance tasks which includes ability to: climb ladders, work in confined spaces, lift heavy objects weighing up to 50lbs and other duties per job description compliance documents.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS).
• Familiarity with life safety systems.
