Lead Mechanical/Electrical Field Service Technician

This individual will work with our field service teams to assist with the troubleshooting and repair of our products at customer locations throughout the United States. The individual will have strong mechanical aptitude with industrial electrical controls experience, including knowledge of control panels and control panel/ field components. This individual will also provide design and assembly support for industrial conveyor equipment, as available.

Responsibilities
- Lead and perform onsite troubleshooting, installation, and repair of mechanical/electrical control systems and equipment at customer locations.
- Acts as first escalation point for technical or operational issues (field work stoppages, team constraints, resource challenges, or safety incidents)
- Oversee and participate in factory acceptance tests, system commissioning, and post-installation support.
- Coordinate team scheduling and task assignments with the Field Service Supervisor.
- Provides real-time coaching and direction to field technicians/engineers regarding priorities, expectations, safety, and best practices.
- Collaborate with customers, subcontractors, and engineering teams to resolve technical and project-related issues.
- Lead onsite training for customers and team members on equipment and maintenance procedures.
- Provide timely and accurate reporting on site visits, project status, and issue resolution.
- Balance daily and weekly workload to ensure service level attainment and rapid response to field issues.
- Tracks recurring issues and drives process improvement, leveraging LCI’s 4-step problem solving tools and OpEx methodology.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, safety compliance, and the Intralox business philosophy.
- Identify and escalate site or customer challenges to the Supervisor as necessary.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of three (3) years of field service or industrial technician experience, preferably with automated production equipment or conveyor systems.
- Proficient troubleshooting skills with mechanical assemblies, electrical panels, drives, networks, and PLCs.
- Demonstrated ability to lead peers and interface with customers professionally.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings/schematics.
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Salesforce or similar systems a plus.
- Ability to travel up to 60%, including weekends and overtime as project needs require
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders, and working on-site in industrial environments.
- Valid driver’s license.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience providing hands-on technical or field leadership.
- Prior work with modular plastic conveyor belts or Intralox equipment.
- Experience with RSLogix, Studio 5000, Siemens Step 7, or similar controls platforms
- Basic project coordination experience and safety leadership.
- Experience delivering technical training or mentoring in a team setting.

The position is eligible for one of the following: commissions, discretionary incentives, or production incentives according to the terms of those plans.
Salary Range: $39.81 to $57.26
