Intralox L.L.C., the world leader in conveyor equipment solutions utilizing modular plastic conveyor belts, has a position available for an Industrial Engineer at our Sparrows Point, MD location.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements
Responsibilities:

  • Supports our manufacturing operations to develop and optimize our process and flow, inventory analysis and assembly line layouts in our Equipment Platform.
  • Be self-managed, flexible, service-oriented, and possess strong integrity and professionalism.
  • Some willingness to travel is required within North America, South America, Europe and Asia. Some overnight travel is required. (<10%).
  • Develops efficient ways to utilize resources in a labor-intensive manufacturing operation.
  • Maintain and enhance understanding and application of lean methods and tools, utilize those skills to make improvements.
  • Have a strong aptitude to bring productivity in manufacturing flow lines, production cells, materials management, and overall production systems
  • Helps increase productivity and efficiency in the manufacturing operations by identifying opportunities for improvement.
  •  Assist/perform cost analysis, production planning and inventory analysis.
  • Designs methods to ensure product and process quality.
  • Develops and optimizes plant layout, assembly line layouts and material flow plans.
  • Resolves production and information system problems.
  • Writes process procedures, develop accurate flow charts, and perform time studies.
  • Determines material flow, material presentation and operation sequences; identifies inefficiencies in existing material processes, sees the pathway to excellence, and executes on the plan.
  • Performs mathematical calculations to determine best manufacturing processes.
  • Evaluates the effects of product design changes on manufacturability.
  • Determines and maintain KPI standards.
  • Performs and analyzes time and motion studies to identify waste in production processes
  • Brings and integrates new skills, ideas, and perspectives to a team rooted in continuous improvement, leverages their ideas and other team member ideas to create the best value addition to our team and customers.
  • Leverages expertise to contribute to the team’s project funnel and priority list, identifying and scoring new opportunities as a routine part of the role.
  • Aids in the development of team members both junior and senior, leaning on expertise and perspective as the foundation for growth.

Position Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
  • At least ten (10) years of experience in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong mechanical and structural aptitude, and blueprint reading knowledge.
  • Demonstrates expert ability to troubleshoot (proactively and reactively) and identify solutions and/or improvements.
  • Developed and practiced understanding of excellence in manufacturing process development, enhancement, and integration.
  • Proven track record of continuous improvement and complex manufacturing projects with large stakeholder groups.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Problem solver, Practical and “hands-on.”
  • Proficient in Excel and other analytical tools.
  • Energetic and well organized.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional language skills.
  • Knowledge of Toyota Production System.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification.

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Intralox considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training and key skills. The position is eligible for one of the following: commissions, discretionary incentives, or production incentives according to the terms of those plans.

Salary Range: $70,900 to $176,600
