Job Description (General Summary)
Intralox, LLC is currently seeking a Project Manager for the Engineering Team in the Equipment platform. This individual will be primarily responsible for managing projects through Intralox’s product development process- from ideation to fielded solutions. This Project Manager will work in our Shanghai office to support our various development teams in the creation of innovative, high-value solutions for challenging real-world problems.

This Project Manager will be working with driven and talented people across multiple departments. For a person to be successful in this role, they need to be highly motivated to learn new things, enjoy navigating complexity and demonstrate a wide degree of creativity

Job Responsibilities and Requirements

Responsibilities: 

  • Partner with Business Development and Commercial teams to scope, and execute development projects that adapt globally released products for local market needs—enhancing competitiveness and driving growth through value engineering, local component substitution, and market-specific customization.
  • Manages developmental projects in accordance with product development processes from ideation to production.
  • Work with global product development teams and regional teams from sales to operations on pulling new products into the region, optimize workflow and ensure proper release in the region.
  • Develops, monitors, and controls a detailed project plan that includes a scope of work and schedule. 
  • Plans, directs, and manages project related tasks. 
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for all project stakeholders and communicate information at the right time, to the right audience. 
  • Conduct risk assessment on projects and mitigate risks for work that is activated. 
  • Actively manages project team capacity, identifies resource constraints and facilitates prioritization and trade off decisions with the appropriate stakeholders.   
  • Apply expert level project management concepts, practices, and procedures to drive project work to completion. 
  • Identify business processes & product line gaps that do not align with our rapidly growing business, assess implications and work with various teams to implement change.

Skills needed to be successful: 

  • Ability to navigatewithincomplex topics, Simplifies complex information where possible.
  • Ability to problem solve, remove obstacles, and resolve project issues that may slow project progress. Turn very loose front-end problem or opportunity statements into actionable requirements 
  • Ability to manage projects withlarge development scope including many interdependencies 
  • Creates clear and concise documentation 
  • Understands how and when to take risks, make assumptions, and create plans to validate those assumptions. 
  • Technically minded with the ability to understand and communicate different technical concepts related to both mechanical and electrical design.   
  • Adaptable-able to pivot quicklywhen new information is learned 
  • Self-driven and motivated 

Requirements:

  • B.S. or B.A. from an accredited university. 
  • 5+ years Project Management experience.
  • Technical qualification in industrial, mechanical or electrical engineering OR equivalent working experience.
  • Understanding of Project Management processes and best practices. 
  • Experience working in cross functional teams.
  • Proficient with MS Project, Word, Excel and AutoCAD.
  • Effective communication (verbal and written).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with engineering groups, operations groups, commercial groups, suppliers, and customers.
  • Fluency (spoken and written) in English & Chinese.
  • Travel Required (~10%).

Desired Qualifications:

  • PMP or formal Project Management training. 
  • Product Development Project experience.
  • Experience working in manufacturing organizations.  
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of Smartsheet.
