Job Description (General Summary)
We are seeking an Application Engineer for the rapidly growing Logistics & Material Handling segment to support customers across Japan and other APAC countries. This Japan-based role offers the opportunity to work closely with customers, design practical and reliable technical solutions, and collaborate with experienced engineering and commercial teams around the world, translating operational requirements into efficient, value-driven Intralox solutions for logistics, e-commerce, parcel, and warehousing applications.

This role is well suited to an engineer with a strong problem-solving mindset who values delivering solutions to customers, enjoys working in an international environment, and is seeking professional growth within a stable global organization.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct technical support to customers and internal commercial teams by analyzing operations and developing tailored conveyor layouts and machine configurations
  • Visit customer sites to understand material-handling requirements and propose value-added Intralox solutions
  • Collaborate closely with a global network of application engineers and sales teams
  • Interpret customer specifications and make recommendations based on performance, value, and scalability
  • Develop equipment layout concepts, define project scope, and support cost estimation

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electronics, mechatronics, or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of relevant experience within automation or material-handling systems in a customer-interfacing role
  • (Near-)native Japanese and fluent English communication skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D CAD Software
  • Strong communication skills, a sense of ownership, and a collaborative working style
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently (40%+)
